Beat the Declining Market for New Cars -Buy ex Government Cars
With the recent economic downturn fewer people want to stretch them self and buy a brand new car that they know will depreciate quickly and many are looking for ways to still by near new cars but at much lower prices. Is this even possible? Well, yes it is and the answer is called Gov Auctions. Let me elaborate as to why this is the case.
On the used car market 2-3 year old cars with low mileage are, just as before, the most favoured ones as these vehicles would still be under warranty and the initial big depreciation has already burdened the previous owner.
Interestingly, vehicles within this category are becoming increasingly more difficult to find and are in fact marketed at a premium prices at the local car dealers.
With the recent shift in consumer demand and as new cars sales deteriorate so does the availability of quality low mileage cars on the used car market. Many are asking if there are any smart options to counter this.
Now, what many don’t realize is that the US Government, federal, state, local and agencies alike still purchase almost the same numbers of new cars every year, which means 100,000s of new vehicles entering the market on a regular basis. These cars are by law replaced regularly for new ones again within 2-3 years. This means that the Goverment is contoinously “dumping” several hundreds of thousands of quality 2-3 years old onto the used car market. Few people are however unaware of how to access these vehicles and that thay are available at much lower prices than at your local car dealer.
Fact is that from a price and availability perspective the ex government vehicles are today one of the, if not the best source, where you can find the range and models you would wish your car dealer would carry in stock.
So how do you access these ex government vehicle sales?
Since Government agencies, by law, must dispose of these vehicles quickly and without any further depreciation these vehicles and sent/commisssioned to various Car auctions across the US for immediate access to the local public and often auctioned off without even a reserve price.
In total there are about 3,000 US auto auctions that list and auction these quality vehicles and that are, in general, sold approx 15% below the dealer TRADE IN price, which means you can buy these vehicles often at 30% of what you can expect at your local car dealer for the similar vehicle.
Gov-Auctions.org is the US largest Car Auction listing service online and offers immediate access to this network of auto auctions. They also offer many other useful resources helping you making a better next car purchase.
