Unlike the traditional Wrangler, the Wrangler Unlimited is more like a normal SUV. The traditional one was a perfect jeep while this varies slightly form the original version keeping in mind the exterior looks and other SUV features. It is much better than the previous versions but provides goof off road capabilities, the most important feature for any jeep. The wind howl is much less and with an additional wind insulation, you can feel the drive in a SUV car. It has four doors rather than two doors found in normal Wrangler.
Features
The 3.8 liter V6 engine is provided with wrangler for providing good torque in the rugged areas. The noisiness in the previous Wrangler is much reduced and you can expect a quite jeep. Five people can sit comfortably inside Wrangler Unlimited and this jeep has extensive leg rooms. The wheelbase is much larger providing good performance on highways too. The cargo space is three times larger than the space available with Wrangler traditional model. The removable and convertible tops and doors add fun to the vehicle for deriving it within city limits. You can use your imagination to change the looks of the car when you want to drive it within the city.
Three unlimited models are available – x, Sahara, Rubicon and there is no much difference driving these models. The off road capability of Wrangler Unlimited is excellent even with its longer wheelbase. Ground clearance is extraordinary and front and rear overhangs supports driving off the roads. Six shift manual transmissions is standard while you can use 4 shift automatic transmissions also. The manual transmission is much easier to use rather than automatic shifts. There are three skid plates protecting transfer case, fuel tank and automatic transmission oil pan.
The latest model uses a more powerful engine that is fuel efficient too. Gas mileage is however less for Wrangler Unlimited very similar to Wrangler. This sporty vehicle has unbeatable exterior that is superior to any other jeep. The interior is not much concentrated but still you can find all features. For the $30,000 the interior could have been much better. Instrument panel, audio system, and air conditioning are also available. The air conditioning is much better than Wrangler is because the older one did not provide expected cooling. The added feature of real time guidance helps the driver to keep on track so that the route can be retracted if he misses the path. Safety aspect is concentrated and you can find anti lock braking system and air bags. The brake assist helps the drive to bring the vehicle to rest under tight situations.
