The S6 of 2008 is a 2007 carryover. This 5 passenger, 4 door sports Sedan is there in only one trim which is the Sedan. The S6 has a 435 horsepower engine, with a standard 5.2 liter and V10 which can achieve 19mpg on a highway drive and 14 mpg while in the city. The Sedan has an overdrive which is standard and an automatic 6 speed transmission.
The seats and storage space in the Sedan
The seats in the front are sports bucket types which have reclining options and adjustable heights for both the driver and the passenger. There is a 2 position memory powered seat with integral headrests for the driver and both the driver’s as well s the passenger’s seat is power adjustable in 12 ways. There is a pass through rear seat with a 60/40 bench seat with split folding which has headrests that are adjustable and a center fold down arm rest. All seats are upholstered in nappa silk leather.
Storage space has been designed with care an though to give the passengers maximum benefit from the space which is available. There is an underseat storage space in the dual seating area in front, an armrest storage in the rear, tie down hooks in the cargo area, console storage overhead, ski bag, console storage which is covered on the floor, a glove box which is illuminated and with a locking facility, door mounted space for storage in the rear and front and 2 cup holders each in the front and rear.
Safety equipment on the sports sedan
The safety of the driver and passengers have been of prime concern when the safety equipment was being designed and fitted to this sports sedan. Airbags for the driver’s and passenger’s safety have been fitted strategically to ensure that there is enough cushioning in case of a crash. There are side curtain airbags for protecting the head. Anti trap systems for the trunk and crumple zones; fuel shut off systems in an emergency and automatic retractors for locking in the front and rear for the passengers complete the safety equipment. The front and rear seatbelts have height adjusters there are front force limiters on the pretensioners.
Vehicle security
Vehicle security in the form of anti theft equipment ensures that the car is safe when there is no one in it too. The locks are all programmed and remote controlled which gives the option of opening them only to the person who handles the remote. The remotes are multifunctional and can also be operated internally to lock or unlock the doors.
Some of the remote controls and releases function for the opening of the garage door, the release of the trunk which is inside the vehicle and on the remote which is multifunctional, the panic alarm, the release of the fuel door, the powered windows and entry without a key through the key fob also.
